THE BEST PREGNANCY AND POSTPARTUM EXERCISE SPECIALIST COURSE OUT THERE.

Never become so much of an expert that you stop gaining expertise. - unknown

I have worked for almost 20 years as an athletic therapist and an osteopathic manual practitioner, and every year since graduating I seek to learn more with courses, conferences (remember those?!), books, and hundreds of journal articles. I will never stop learning more about bodies, movement, and injury.

Over the last decade, my interest in perinatal health and wellness has grown exponentially. I learned how to prevent, manage and heal various pregnancy-related aches and pains, and dysfunctions, like pelvic organ prolapse, through my personal experience as I brought three babies into the world. I also devoured books and research articles, I took courses with some of the leading experts in their fields.

My goal is to always help make my client’s road to recovery the most efficient it can be. My clinical practice will forever evolve as I rule out more and more inaccuracies, and discard beliefs.

So while we were deep in lockdown and I was looking for a learning opportunity, I decided that it was time to check out Dr. Sarah Duvall’s Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist 2.0 (PCES) course.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure that the investment was going to be worth my time.

I worried it would be full of stuff I already knew, but I have followed and admired Dr. Sarah Duvall for years. She presents exercise and movement strategies that are evidence-based, insightful, and easy to digest. She is a leader in perinatal women’s health, bodies, and movement in general. She is a gem of a human! And so I thought what the heck, let’s see what her full course is all about.

Sarah launched the second, revamped version of her course earlier this year and with over 200 research articles, a new workbook, 10 modules (including dozens of bonus expert interviews), an exercise library, and 19-34 hours of CEU credit for most professional bodies it is by far the most comprehensive program out there.

What did I think of the PCES 2.0 course?

Honestly, it is simply the best perinatal exercise specialist course out there. This course really just blew my socks off.

The thing that makes this course the best, is the sheer volume of content. Sarah does not miss a thing.

It is so full of current research, exercise videos, unique tips and tricks (Sarah is the queen of these!), case studies, slides, handouts, and expert interviews, that it just covers it all, but not in an overwhelming way. Sarah is lovely to listen to and she really respects your time and energy by keeping things concise and direct.

It truly is the most in-depth pregnancy and postpartum exercise specialist certification you will find out there today.

Who is the PCES 2.0 course for?

As I said, I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t get my money’s worth from this course, but I was pleasantly surprised. The content is just so vast! From the research articles to the exercise tips and tricks, there is so much for everyone regardless of where you are starting from.

This course is truly for anyone who works with pregnant and postpartum women: physiotherapists, athletic therapists, OMTs, chiropractors, personal and group trainers.

If you have a foundation in anatomy, biomechanics, exercise, and women’s health you will find the course a wonderful expansion to your already solid level of expertise. I promise you will still learn so much more! ;)

If you are newer to the world of perinatal women’s health, you will find that the course provides you with the confidence and assurance that you need to work with this population.

This course has been approved by almost all certifying bodies across Canada and the US for 19-34 hours of CEU credit.
